Bogota police arrest suspected killers of 2 girls

Bogota police say they have arrested one adult and one minor who are suspected of involvement in the murder of two young girls last month.

According to Bogota Police Commissioner General Francisco Patiño, the suspects are 16 and 20 years and were arrested after investigations among residents of the Kennedy neighborhood where the double homicide took place, reported newspaper El Tiempo.

The suspects allegedly are members of a drug gang operating in the south of the capital. However, the assassination of the two sisters, aged eight and 14, was unrelated to the suspects’ criminal activity, Patiño said.
