Bogota orchestra to play festival in Moscow

Bogota’s Philharmonic Orchestra will play in the 7th annual Festival of World Symphony Orchestras in Moscow, Russia on June 5 and 6.

Cuba’s National Symphony Orchestra will join Bogota’s as the only two representatives from Latin America at this year’s global festival.

The invitation is very important “because sympohonic music in Moscow has impressive roots. This invitation highlights the role that the [Bogota] Orchestra has played in the context of the orchestras of Latin America,” according to director of the Bogota Philharmonic Maria Claudia Duran Farias.

The festival begins June 2 and runs until June 12.
