Bogota loves Jazz in the Park

Yearly music festival Jazz in the Park celebrates its 16th year in Bogota, with events from September 9-11 featuring eight Bogota jazz groups, two Colombian traveling bands, and four international ensembles.

The festival warms up Friday September 9 with an inauguration Gala at the Teatro Municipal Jorge Eliecer Gaitan and on Saturday and Sunday (September 10-11) the jazz can be found at Parque Metropolitano el Country. It’s all that jazz and even more this year, with the addition of a photography exhibit and ongoing concerts in Bogota bars through the month of September.

This year, the event features jazz in five different facets;

Live Concerts in Parque del Country

Saturday Sept. 10 and Sunday Sept. 11, 12:30-8:30PM
Assorted band performances and jam sessions (free entry).

Academic Component

Workshops, meetings, and forums with national and international Jazz musicians.

Cultures in Movement

Photography and conversations that reflect on the social and cultural implications of Jazz in the present.

Avenue “Jazz City”

A space for jazz-lovers to enjoy the music, six bars in Bogota will be offering concerts with 20 different jazz groups and ensembles.
