Bogota launches Mobile Tourist Info Point

Under the framework of World Tourism Day, Colombia’s capital, Bogota, has launched its new Tourist Info Point project – a mobile bus – with the intention of rendering the city a major tourist destination.

There will be 14 new buses, 13 of which will be in stategically fixed positions around Bogota such as the historical city center and the various transport terminals, reported news site Estereofonica on Wednesday.

One of the buses will travel around Colombia, promoting Bogota and providing interesting tourist information about the city at major fairs, festivals and events throughout the country.

The ‘Mobile Tourist Point’ bus will be equipped with state of the art virtual technologies and will be manned by professional bilingual guides.

The launch of this new Mobile Tourist Point project is another government step towards promoting Bogota as a competitive capital for tourism and investment, on its way to becoming one of the great cities of the world.
