Bogota international airport continues to grow

Bogota’s El Dorado Airport comes in 7th on the global list of “Top 25 Fastest Growing Airports” in 2010, released in a report by the Airports Council International (ACI).

El Dorado International Airport in Bogota hosted over 18.7 million travelers in 2010, according to the report.

“This annual Report is ACI’s flagship publication, a unique and comprehensive industry reference presenting data from over 1,300 airports in 157 countries. The Report for 2010 documents a strong rebound from the two-year industry slump. Global passenger traffic rose by 6.6%, topping the 5 billion passenger mark for the first time” stated ACI world Director General Angela Gittens.

“Once again, our industry has shown its resiliency in recovering from a downturn and resuming its historical trajectory of impressive growth” celebrated the director.

Meanwhile, Colombia’s main airport El Dorado in Bogota is currently undergoing a massive modernization project that is scheduled to be finished in 2014.
