Bogota half marathon to host over 45,000 international runners

Bogota is set to host its half Marathon, a world famous annual event in its 12th year.

Famous runners from around the world will compete in the race, which is becoming known as one of the best of its kind. The half marathon is the only race in South America to receive the Gold Label Road Race award.

The champion of the prestigious Portugal, Berlin, and Paris half marathons, Kenyan Peninah Arusei will take part in the competition. The fastest marathon runner on the planet, another Kenyan named Geoffrey Mutai, has already arrived in Bogota to begin training.

Those who would like to take part in this historic race have already missed the regular application fee deadline. Aspiring contenders have until tomorrow to pay the late fee, which is now $42.60 (COP 75,000). The enrollment fee must be made at a Banco de Occidente in Bogota.
