Bogota fashion event showcases Colombian desginers

Preparations are underway for one of Colombia’s most important fashion events set to beautify Bogota in mid-April, according to several media.

The “Circulo de la Moda” (Circle of Fashion) will be an opportunity for Colombia’s top designers to showcase their latest styles to an international audience.

Sandra Cabrales, Pepa Pombo, Ricardo Pava and Hernan Zajar, among other talented designers, will launch their 2011 collections at the three day event celebrating design and innovation in the fashion world. In addition to big names, select university students will have a platform to show off their designs and an opportunity to demonstrate what’s at the forefront of fashion in Colombia.

“It is interesting that things are already happening in Colombia like that which you would see during fashion weeks in other world [fashion] capitals such as New York,” Colombian designer Sandra Cabrales told newspaper El Tiempo.

The Circulo de la Moda will take place in Bogota’s Gran Salon Corferias April 13 to April 15.
