Bogota is ‘Dancing in the City’

Bogota is hosting the “Dancing in the City Festival” this week, with performances by more than 300 dancers from around the world.

Bogota holds eight dance festivals every year, and the “Dancing in the City Festival” is intended to “[bring] together the best of dance in Bogotá and … [the] groups that have been selected … by the public as the best of their kind.”

Forty local, national and international dance companies are present at the festival, which runs until November 28, reports Estereofonica.

The festival offers a offers a broad range of dance styles from around the world.

The shows will be performed in the Jorge Eliecer Gaitan Theatre, the Chapinero and the Varasanta Theatre, the open air theatre Media Torta, in the Gilberto Alzate Avendano Foundation, and in the Virgilio Barco library. Admission to all performances is free.
