Colombian authorities arrested a man they say is one of the successor of ‘Don Mario,’ the feared paramilitary druglord who was captured in April.
Police sources told newspaper El Espectador that Maro Fidel ‘Mateo’ Barba Galarcio was caught in Turbo, a port town close to the Panaman border.
Authorities say ‘Mateo’ is ‘Don Mario’s’ military commander and one of the closest within the criminal organization closest to the captured capo.
‘Mateo’ allegedly was in charge of coordinating assassinations and the infiltration of criminals into State authorities.
National Police director Oscar Naranjo is expected to hold a press conference on Monday morning.
