Army finds ‘FARC’ weapons cache

The Colombian army discovered a large weapons cache, including 1,500 landmines, near the town of San Luis in the Antioquia department, reports Radio Santa Fe.

The weapons are thought to have belonged to the FARC’s 9th Front.

Following intelligence leads, the army’s 13th and 4th Brigades discovered the weapons, which were hidden in drums camouflaged by thick bush.

As well as the 1,500 mines, troops found two AK-47 assault rifles, a Fall 7.62 mm calibre rifle, and a Colt A2 5.56 calibre rifle, as well as over a hundred cartridges.
