Venezuela requests extradition of ‘Colombian murderer’

Venezuela requested the extradition of a Colombian citizen to face trial for the murder of a prominent Venezuelan cattle rancher, El Espectador reported.

Luis Alberto Cartagena David allegedly killed Riad George Jraige Semmon after working on his property the state of Merida, Venezuela, for several months.

The suspect supposedly entered Semmon’s house with some other people, beat Semmon and his wife, gagged them, and stabbed him to death. They reportedly stole several valuable items including jewelry before leaving.

A Merida court issued an arrest warrant signed by Interpol.

The case has been made available to Colombian Prosecutor General Vivianne Morales to process the extradition.
