Uribe’s approval rating climbs to over 73%

After nearly eight years in office, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe’s approval rating of 73.7% remains impressively high, according to the most recent poll released on Thursday by Gallup Colombia, reports CM&.

With less than two and a half months left in office, Uribe’s most recent approval rating is slightly higher than the 72% reported two weeks ago, and substantially higher than the 63%, his all-time low, which was recorded three months ago.

The Gallup poll also showed that Uribe’s 73.7% rating outshines all of the of the presidential candidates of the upcoming election on May 30.

According to the poll, Green Party candidate Antanas Mockus only has a rating of 68%, followed by Partido de la U candidate Juan Manuel Santos with 59.5%, and Conservative Party candidate Noemi Sanin with 58.2%.
