Tolima hold Corinthians in Copa Libertadores

Colombian soccer side Deportes Tolima delivered a good result in their Copa Libertadores clash with Corinthians, holding the Brazilians to a goalless draw.

As overall best team of the 2010 Colombian soccer season, Tolima qualified for the first round of South America’s most prestigious club tournament.

A tough first leg was expected against Corinthians at Sao Paulo’s Municipal Stadium, but Tolima goalkeeper Antony Silva and his defense kept a clean sheet.

The two sides will meet again for the second leg, which is to be played in Tolima’s capital city Ibague on February 2nd.

The other two Colombian teams in the Copa Libertadores, Atletico Junior and Once Caldas, are already certain of a spot in the group phase.
