Cirque du Soleil tent raised for new show in Bogota

With the show already completely sold out, the construction of the tent, which is 17 metres high and 50 metres in diameter, marks the beginning of works which will go on until the morning of the premiere.

The Canadian company has been transporting all the elements necessary for its new show, which has enjoyed overwhelming success every city it’s visited, into Bogota since the start of the week.

Since the first Cirque du Soleil show came to Colombia in 2010, every one of its expositions here have sold out months in advance and success with ‘Varekai!’ has been such that the company has had to extend its season four times since tickets went on sale in December.

The spectacle, written and directed by Dominic Champagne, will be performed in the aforementioned tent, from 20 March to 5 May, with a capacity of 2,500 people per show.
