Bogota airport repair works suspended

Colombian authorities Friday suspended the repair works of one runway
of Bogota’s international airport El Dorado due to unacceptable delays
in flights.

“The works will be suspended until things normalize again … We need a timetable [for the works] … that will not affect the passengers,” Transport Minister Andres Uriel Gallego told local media.

The decision was made after a flight scheduled to leave Thursday evening could not leave the airport until Friday morning due to the closed runway.
