Photography exhibition to open in Bogota

The Santa Fe Planetarium Gallery in Bogota will be the host of a new photographic exhibition called “Forums.” The exhibit will be open from Wednesday, January 19, until Friday, February 11, according to a press release from the City of Bogota.

The gallery will display 74 artistic photos by award-winning artist Juan David Montoya Laserna, which depict Colombia’s biggest and most well-known stadiums, arenas and sports facilities.

The photos were mostly taken at night using prolonged exposure and artificial light, and show the stadiums empty of the large crowds that typically fill the sports or entertainment arenas.

The concept of “Forums” explores the differences between the notions of “people” and “crowds,” specifically the patterns of behavior associated with gathering thousands of individuals at a cultural or sporting event.

Admission to the exhibition is free.
