Nacional too strong for Deportivo Cali

Atletico Nacional are another step closer to the group phase of the Colombian Copa Mustang II after a 1-2 win at Deportivo Cali, while America de Cali suffered a 2-0 defeat at Deportivo Pereira.

Nacional needed just six minutes for Jose Amaya to open the score at Deportivo Cali, who then replied with an equalizer from Wilmer Parra in minute 15.

The winning goal was for the away side though, and was scored by Ezequiel Maggiolo in the 60th minute.

Both sides had a man sent off in this game. Cali’s Andres Perez was dismissed in the 19th minute, and Humberto Mendoza of Nacional followed with a second booking in the 72nd.

Deportivo Pereira did themselves a great favor with a 2-0 win over America. The deadlock was broken by an own goal from Jersson Gonzalez in the 60th minute, a minute before America goalkeeper Torres was sent off with a direct red card.

Carlos Preciado added a second goal to end all doubts in the 90th minute.

On Friday, Boyaca Chico took a 2-0 lead against Millonarios but the Bogota outfit eventually came back to 2-2.
