Nacional beat leaders Tolima, Santa Fé draw with Bucaramanga

Atlético Nacional have defeated league leaders Deportes Tolima with a last gasp winner from Córdoba, and find their way into the top eight.

Atlético beat leaders

Tolima were on their way to yet another win with a Marangoni goal in the 31st minute but Perea equalised for the home side seven minutes later.

The winner came at four minutes from the end, when Cordoba beat the opposing goalkeeper for 2-1.

Tolima do maintain their lead, but three other teams follow at only one point. Atlético are now shared seventh, together with Deportivo Pereira.

No goals at El Campín

Santa Fé failed to take advantage of Tolima’s slip-up and were held to a goalless draw by Atlético Bucaramanga in Bogotá.

Consequently, Santa Fé are one of the three teams trailing Tolima by one point. The other two are Junior Barranquilla and Millonarios.

Bucaramanga have a good chance of making it to the next round as well, currently being placed sixth in the league.

Once Caldas held by Quindío

Once Caldas dropped a few spots after a 1-1 draw with Deportes Quindío in Manizales.

Ciciliano, who recently made a move from Millonarios, put the home side in the lead but Santoya levelled the score shortly after the hour mark.

Caldas now occupy the fifth position while Quindío, placed tenth, continue to fight for a top-eight spot.

Other action on Sunday

Cúcuta Deportivo continue to struggle. The former champions take the bottom spot in the league having earned only four points so far. Deportivo Pereira took advantage and move into the top eight. Both goals near the Venezuelan border were scored by Quintero, in the 59th and 89th minutes.

Atlético Huila earned a narrow victory over Envigado, thanks to a winning goal from Valencia with eleven minutes left to play.

Copa Mustang 1 champions Boyaca Chicó and Independiente Medellín both failed to earn more than one point from their clash on Sunday, which leaves them in 16th and 17th place respectively. Cuadrado put DIM ahead after 21 minutes but Perez equalised five minutes before the break.
