Miss Risaralda chosen to compete in national Colombian pageant

The department of Risaralda elected their beauty queen to compete in the Miss Colombia pageant.

Tatiana Angel Ilian, 24 years old, was crowned Miss Risaralda after two years of competing for the title, newspaper El Diario reported. “The committee realized that I had long been nurturing this dream and gave me the opportunity,” Angel Ilian explained.

Born in Bogota, the beauty’s family moved to Pereira, the capital city of Risaralda, when she was eight months old. Ilian has been pursuing her dream to become Miss Risaralda for 5 years.

“Since childhood I saw the queens and followed them with much spirit, and from about five years ago I put [the idea] in my head and it is a dream that I am fulfilling at the moment.”

Miss Risaralda will go to Cartagena in November to compete in the national beauty pageant to try to bring home the first title to the department of Risaralda.

“I think I will sell the image of Risaralda as a green department, with vibrant people, hardworking, that wants to achieve goals. For my part, I am always going to be able to give my best, Cartagena is a very special showcase and I need to seize it to show the best of Risaralda.”
