A collision between a bus and a food-transport truck in Bogota has left 14 people injured, 10 of whom have serious injuries, local media reported Friday.

The accident happened on Avenida Boyaca, in the area of Mandalay, located in the southwest of the capital.

The driver of the bus blamed the accident on the driver of the truck, claiming that he ran a red light before attempting to flee the scene. According to Radio Santa Fe, the driver was ultimately stopped by a fellow passenger.

The wounded, which included six women and two children, were taken to medical centers nearby, West Clinic and Kennedy Hospital.
