Mexican airline opens Bogota route

Mexican airline Aeromexico is beginning its operations in Colombia by starting a new flight between Bogota and Mexico City, which will open up new inter-continental routes for Colombian travelers.

Mexico’s largest airline will start daily flights between the two capitals on July 6, and with other destinations available from Mexico City including Europe and Asia, Colombians will be able to avoid transiting in the U.S., which requires a visa.

The airline now has six South American destinations which include Santiago de Chile, Lima, Buenos Aires, and Sao Paulo.

Flights will leave Bogota’s newly named Luis Carlos Galan Sarmiento Airport at 1AM, arriving in Mexico at 5:35AM. The return leg takes off at 5:55PM in Mexico City, and gets in to Bogota at 10:30PM.
