Medellin gets ready for International Jazz Festival

Medellin will celebrate its International Festival of Jazz and World
Music with world-class artists ranging from Latin Jazz, Salsa,
Flamenco, Colombian Jazz and Jazz-Fusion. The festival takes place from 10 until 19 September.

What
began in a tiny bar in 1997 turned into one of the most important Jazz Festivals
in the country. National and international musicians attend the festival each year.

This year Medellin will host Maraca & The Monterey Latin Jazz All Stars (Cuba-Puerto Rico), Yomo Toro (Puerto Rico), Oreste Vilato (Cuba), Maite Hontele (Netherlands), Dave Valentin (United States) and Mario Kaona (Colombia) among others.

Music lovers can enjoy the jazz
vibes at the Teatro al Open Air in the Centro Comercial El Tesoro, at the Teatro Metropolitano, Teatro de la Universidad de Medellin, Gran Salon de la Plaza Mayor, Plazoleta de la Plaza Mayor and the Paseo Comercial.
