Medellin close to bringing Rolling Stones to Colombia: Mayor

Medellin is close to bringing one of rock n’ roll’s best groups in history, the Rolling Stones, to Colombia’s second largest city, Mayor Anibal Gaviria claimed Thursday.

According to the mayor, it is only a matter of time before the official announcement of the Stones’ first concert in Colombia is confirmed.

“We are just waiting for the official confirmation of those in charge of the concert,” Gaviria told press.

Ocesa, the concert organizer trying to get Mick Jagger and friends to Medellin, told newspaper El Tiempo that so far nothing has been confirmed and they will not make a statement until there exists a scheduled date for the gig.

The Rolling Stones are currently on their “On Fire tour” to celebrate the group’s 50 years existence.
