Manizales theater festival celebrates 40th anniversary

The Manizales International Theater Festival, the oldest in Latin America, celebrates it’s fortieth anniversary this year.

The festival, held for the first time in 1968, started out as an international festival with 23 universities from eight Latin American countries participating. Forty years later, starting this Friday, the festival will mostly take its theaters into the streets, trying to show the beauty of the city to the visiting theater admirer.
