Junior beat Santa Fe to jump to third place

Sante Fe risk dropping out of the top four in the Colombian Liga Postobon after a 2-0 defeat at Junior, who in turn climb to third position.

Most of the match in Barranquilla went by without goals, but the balance shifted when Santa Fe had Norbey Salazar sent off in the 70th minute.

Junior took advance through Carlos Bacca nine minutes later and Martin Arzuaga made it 2-0 near the full time whistle.

While Junior climb from fifth to third place, Santa Fe drop from third to fourth and could go down another spot when Real Cartagena face Atletico Nacional on Sunday.

Deportes Tolima jumped back to the top spot, at least for the day, with a 1-0 win over Deportivo Pereira. The only goal of the match came from Faustino Arizala in the ninth minute.

In Saturday’s remaining game, Once Caldas drew 3-3 with Boyaca Chico. The Manizales outfit needed a 90th-minute goal from Oswaldo Vizcarrondo to avoid a defeat.
