Judge orders release of DMG director’s mother

A Bogota judge ordered the release of Amparo Guzman, mother of convicted DMG director David Murcia.

According to the court, authorities have failed make a case against the woman and terms to prosecute her have now expired.

Colombian police and prosecuors initially accused Murcia’s mother of money laundering and illicit enrichment.

Amapro’s son was convicted of those crimes and is awaiting extradition to the United States, where he also faces money laundering charges.
