A jealous enraged man on Sunday set fire to his house, consequently burning the neighborhood, over a man whistling at his wife in Cali.
The man reportedly came home drunk around 5AM and set fire to his house in a drunken rage over another man whistling at his spouse.
The fire quickly spread to other houses, leaping from roof to roof, destroying homes and consuming families’ possessions.
The arson suspect is allegedly known for coming home drunk and beating his wife. He has also apparently threatened to burn the house down on numerous occasions.
The alleged arsonist’s wife said that he became angry when a man whistled in the street, a gesture he allegedly took to signify a secret message being sent to his wife, instigating him to set the house on fire.
The Red Cross arrived in the neighborhood to provide humanitarian aid for the families affected by the fire.
