Alleged head of FARC 23rd front captured

Colombia’s national anti-kidnapping squad captured the boss of the FARC’s 23rd front near the north-eastern city of Bucaramanga on Wednesday.

The squad detained the guerrilla chief, alias ‘Richard’, who allegedly replaced the faction’s previous leader, the ‘butcher of Landázuri’ after the ‘butcher’ was arrested several months ago in the country’s capital, Bogota.

‘Richard’ will face charges of extortion, rebellion, terrorism and conspiracy to commit crime, reported newspaper El Espectador on Wednesday.
