Colombian race car driver Juan Pablo Montoya on Sunday won his third Rolex 24, a twice around the clock endurance race in Daytona, Florida.
At the wheel of the BMW-Riley, Montoya drove through the last leg of the race battling down the homestretch against defending champion AJ Allmendinger.
“It was fun,” a victorious Montoya said.
A veteran of Formula 1, NASCAR and Indy, the Bogota-native Montoya is approaching the end of his storied career and is in the last year of his contract with the Chip Ganassi Racing team. Accordingly, Montoya felt the pressure to perform.
