Colombia’s Defense Minister and Armed Forces Commander Freddy
Paddilla Saturday said the country’s largest rebel group FARC is on the
verge of being defeated.
“To avoid suffering, its troops are carrying out terrorist activities and are involved in drug trafficking and those forms are increasingly distancing them from the Colombian people and the international community. In my opinion they are digging their own grave, every day they are getting closer to their own defeat,” the General said Saturday.
Padilla said the Colombian Armed Forces will continue their offensive against the left-wing guerrillas and seek the release of the hostages still kept by the rebels.
