Silvestre Dangond, one of Colombia’s famous singers, announced that he and his family had to leave their country after being threatened on several occasions.

The singer of the popular vallenato genre told radio station La FM that “I am tired of it [the threats], that’s why I am exposing them.”

According to the radio station, Dangond claimed that unknown persons arrived on his ranch and killed four of his cows. The incident followed threats the singer’s family would be kidnapped.

“I do not suspect anyone but I distrust everyone,” said the singer, who refused to explicitly mention neo-paramilitary group “Los Urabeños,” highly active in Dangond’s home region, as a possible culprot.

The Vallenato star performed at the wedding of an alleged “Urabeños” commander last year.
