Copa Libertadores: Once Caldas lose to Santos

Colombian team Once Caldas are close to elimination from this year’s Copa Libertadores after losing 0-1 to Brazilian side Santos.

Santos’ Alan Patrick scored the decisive goal in the 42nd minute.

In the 60th minute of the match, Once player Elkin Calle was sent off following a foul on Neymar, who was breaking towards the goal.

Despite the Brazilian’s defensive play in the second half, Once Caldas almost forced a penalty deep into injury time, but the appeals were waved away by the referee.

The second leg of the match will be played in Sao Paulo next week.
