Colombian congressman wanted in US

An investigation by Caracol Radio found that Colombian congressman Enrique Chapman is listed as a fugitive from justice in files belonging to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Chapman, a congressional representative for the northern department of Atlantico, is listed on the bureau’s website as “escaped” and in an “unknown” location.

When questioned about the issue Chapman refused to comment, but has announced via a press release that he has no outstanding concerns with the law.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons is an agency belonging to the Department of Justice of the United States and is responsible for the custody of federal prisoners, including those arrested for drug trafficking.
