Colombia’s Santos among Twitter’s most popular world leaders

Colombia President Juan Manuel Santos is among the world’s most popular heads of state on Twitter, according to a report.

The annual World Leaders on Twitter report by Digital Daya puts Santos on the 8th spot, behind his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama and Venezuela’s ailing leader, Hugo Chavez.

According to the ranking, Santos “had grown his followers by well over 1 million since 2011.”

Digital Daya also stressed the activities of the country’s ex-President, Alvaro Uribe, who has used the social media service to launch fierce criticism on his successor.
