The United States embassy in Bogota and Colombia’s Interior Ministry have launched the “Forum for Best Practices and Partnerships in the Fight Against Human Trafficking in Colombia.”
The campaign will focus on the growing efforts by the government of Colombia in relation to the law enforcement and public messages in the fight against human trafficking in recent months, as well as continuing support services to combat trafficking.

The forum was attended by representatives of the various agencies of the Government of Colombia and the Embassy of the United States, as well as members of civil society. This event allowed the opportunity to promote the many programs of cooperation between Colombia and the United States but primarily focused on the exchange of information, training and opportunities to continue to eradicate trafficking.

The event encouraged the participation of public policy makers, organizations and law enforcement partners in civil society, representatives of non-governmental organizations, academic institutions and the defense of human rights to end this form of modern slavery through the paradigm of the “3P” – prevention, protection and prosecution.
