Colombian model arrested in Mexico with alleged murderer

Colombian model Juliana Sosa Toro was arrested in Mexico with the alleged shooter of a Paraguayan soccer player.

The newspaper La Semana reported Tuesday that Juliana Sosa Toro was caught in a round-up of suspects in the January 25, 2010 shooting case of Paraguayan soccer star Salvador Cabanas.

The former Antioquia beauty queen is reportedly the girlfriend of suspected shooter and drug dealer Jose Jorge Balderas Garza, alias “JJ.” According to reports from weekly Semana, the two live in Mexico.

Mexican Police caught Sosa and her boyfriend JJ with five accomplices as well as stolen identification cards, numerous packets of cocaine, five rifles, six handguns, one sub-machine gun, 304 cartridges, two grenades, six bullet-proof vests and almost $160,000 in cash, reports Semana.

Salvador Cabanas, who holds two leading scorer titles for the Libertadores Cup in 2007 and 2008 and former striker for Club America, is currently completing his long rehabilitation in Paraguay.
