171 international buyers will attend the Colombian Travel Mart, an event in March that showcases the best of the country’s tourism, Colombia’s tourism and investment promotion agency announced Monday.
Hosted by the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism in coordination with the promotion agency Proexport, the Colombia Travel Mart will include 3800 business meetings, a stage with on-going cultural shows, and exhibits showcasing the best of Colombia’s tourism products, services, and destinations.
“The event aims to increase coverage in the professional segment for regional markets which translates into providing more options for local entrpreneurs to expand their offerings in partnership with international wholesalers,” as well as to “attract new wholesale markets such as South Korea, Bolivia, Australia, and Uruguay,” said Proexport.
Entrepreneurs and representatives from travel agencies, airlines, leisure travel wholesalers, as well as professional traders for events and products like golf, originating from 27 different countries will be attending this year’s event.
There will be a special focus on greeting representatives from Japan and Korea with whom Colombia hopes to establish free trade agreements in the near future.
The event will take place on March 1 and 2 at the Corferias conference center in Bogota.
