Colombia seizes ton of cocaine off Caribbean coast

The Colombian navy said Sunday it has seized more than a ton of cocaine in two operations on the country’s Caribbean coast.

According to the Navy, the 1,158 kilos of cocaine were found in ships in two port towns.

The biggest stash, 1,158 kilos, was found in Isla Fuerte, an island off the coast. A smaller stash of 160 kilos was found on a ship in the port of Turbo, Antioquia.

Three men were arrested in Turbo. No arrests were reported in Isla Fuerte.

According to the Navy, it has been able to confiscate more than 38 tons of cocaine on and off the Caribbean coast.
