Buenos Aires is preparing to host a 4-day festival packed with dance, music, circus, theater and film, designed to showcase the “best of Colombian culture,” according to reports from Colombian newsmagazine Semana.

“Colombia te Seduce 2014,” organized by the Embassy and General Consulate of Colombia in Argentina, is due to take the Argentine capital by storm in a week’s time.

Cali troupe “Delirio” will kick off the festival with its famous salsa, circus and orchestra fusion, dubbed “the best salsa performance in the world” by the New York Times.

Argentina’s Journal of Culture reports that the group, from Colombia’s third-largest city and the birthplace of Cali salsa, will appear in Buenos Aires for the first time.

Also to be featured is the Bahia group, directed by Colombian musician Hugo Candelario Gonzalez, who specialize in instruments and rhythms from the coastal state of Choco.

The spectacle concludes with five award-winning short films celebrating Colombia as the “birthplace of magical realism”.
