Cinema Without Borders film festival comes to Medellin

International film festival Cinema Without Borders will be held in the Medellin area next month, showcasing the best and most vibrant of contemporary world cinema.

The theme of this year’s festival is “Independent of what?” and it will feature 25 thought-provoking films from around the world.

The films have been carefully selected by the event’s organizers for their controversial subject matter and daring viewpoint, as well as for their high quality, in order to get a strong reaction from their audience.

Some of the titles included are “El Niño Pez” from Argentina, “The Exploding Girl” from the U.S., and “Between Two Worlds” from Sri Lanka.

Many of the works have been praised by judges at Berlin, Cannes, Sundance, and Tribeca film festivals.

The Cinema Without Borders festival will be held in the city of Medellin, as well as other towns in the Aburra Valley, between July 22 and August 2.
