Central Colombia bus crash kills 9

At least nine people have been killed in a bus crash some 100 miles west of Colombia’s capital Bogota, local media reported Sunday.

The accident took place Saturday on the road connecting the city of Ibague with the nearby Combeima canyon.

Authorities have said that because of heavy fog, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle when trying to avoid a rock on the road, driving the bus into a 1000-feet ravine.

10 people survived the accident and were taken to a nearby hospital.
