Real Cartagena are the new leaders in the Colombian Copa Mustang. The
team that returned to the country’s top flight at the start of this
season, beat Junior 0-2 in a coastal classic to move into first place.
Both goals came from Edwards Jiménez, who first scores in the 40th minute and then added another a few minutes after the break.
Cartagena now have the same amount of points as Boyacá Chicó, but also have a better goal record.
Atlético Nacional remained in last position as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Cúcuta Deportivo. Nacional twice took the lead, both times with goals from Jairo Palomino. But Walter Moreno equalised in the first half and César Arias did so in the 68th minute to earn the home side a hard-fought draw.
The match with the most goals was the clash between Pereira and Envigado, where the home side ended up with a 4-2 victory. Mario Giménez, Angulo Barahona, Carlos Preciado and Christian Lara scored for Pereira while César Morales and John Lozano netted for the guests.
Deportes Tolima earned a 2-0 victory over Pasto and move closer to the top eight of the tournament. Franco Arizales scored in the 16th minute and Wilder Medina doubled the lead in the 69th.
Independiente Medellín needed a very late goal to make a difference against Atlético Huila, who had taken a 0-1 lead through Hernan Cordoba in the 45th minute. Carlos Hidalgo made it 1-1 in the 51st and Rafael Castillo provided the winner in the final minute.
In the last match of the day, Millonarios allowed Once Caldas to leave Bogotá with a point. Rafael Robayo put Millonarios in the lead after 62 minutes but Johan Fano equalised 20 minutes later. Elkin Blanco was sent off after 49 minutes in his very first league game for Millonarios.
