Boyaca massacre leaves 5 dead

Three children, their mother and a man were massacred in the Boyaca department in what seems a dramatic family dispute, local media reported Monday.

According to reports, the children of two, four and eleven years old, together with their mother and a man were found stabbed to death in a house in the village of Ventaquemada, Boyaca, some 70 miles north east of the capital Bogota.

Neighbors told authorities that the female adult victim, Clara Zulay, had seperated from her husband three months ago, allegedly because of his violent attitude towards his family.

Authorities do not rule out the ex-husband, Orlando Sanchez, is involved in the killing. The suspect turned himself in to local authorities and will be interrogated.
