Bogota to host short film festival

Between December 6 and 10 Bogota will host the the 4th annual In Vitro Visual International Short Film Festival, reports newspaper El Espectador.

The five day festival will see over 120 Colombian and international short films screened, including almost 50 French entries, due to collaboration with French short-film promoters Le Lutin du Court-Metrage.

The festival has also secured the right to screen the short film selection from Spain’s San Sebastian International Film Festival, the first screening of this year’s selection in Latin America.

The festival provides an important platform for Colombian filmmakers to screen their work, with 37 Colombian productions included in the official international selection.

Films shown on December 9 are to pay homage to Bogota’s cinematic and cultural institution La Cinemateca Distrital, which celebrates its 40th birthday this year.

The festival’s award ceremony will take place on Friday 9 December, in the National Museum of Colombia in Bogota.
