8 Colombian sailors detained by Puerto Rico

Eight Colombian sailors from a Colombian tanker remain in the custody of the Puerto Rican coastguard, after they were detained 13 days ago, reports Caracol Radio.

Colombian authorities do not know why the sailors are being held, but the Colombian consul in Puerto Rico, Carlos Augusto Muñoz, said that they are in “excellent condition and have been well cared for.”

Muñoz said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bogota is assessing the situation.
