‘America’s Most Wanted’ fugitive captured in Medellin

An U.S. man wanted for a 2006 shooting was apprehended in Colombia on Monday, and currently awaits extradition to the U.S. to face attempted homicide charges.

John Caro was at a Pennslyvania strip club in December 2006 when an argument between him and a woman erupted, according to police. Caro allegedly followed the woman as she left the club, pulled alongside her car and shot at her. The victim was treated for wounds to the face and neck but did not die.

Caro was captured by Colombian law enforment officials working with information supplied by the U.S. Marshals  in the Colombian city of Medellin.

The popular television show “America’s Most Wanted” featured Caro in February 2012, bringing in many tips which aided in the investigation, according to the US Marshals press release.

Caro, who called himself “Blaze,” is described by the “America’s Most Wanted” website as “hispanic.” The site also says that he “may frequent adult entertainment clubs,” and that he “may be working in landscaping.”
