American ex-pat shot dead in Medellin

Medellin police on Thursday confirmed rumors about the killing of a U.S. citizen in Colombia’s second largest city earlier in the week.

A local police report released to this website showed that 48-year old Noah Goldberg was shot and killed on Medellin’s Carrera 70, one of the city’s most popular tourism spots located in the upscale neighborhood near the stadium.

The victim was the owner of a local tourism agency.

Rumors surged on Wednesday about the American’s death earlier that morning, but were initially denied by local authorities.

Goldberg is the second American to be killed in Medellin this year. Robbers killed another U.S. citizen inside a hostel in late April.
