Alqueria buys shares in 2 other companies for $6.2M

Colombia’s second biggest milk company Alqueria has bought majority shares in other companies for $6.2 million.

The Bogota-based milk company is now the majority shareholder of Goasan SAS and G.E. Asociados SAS, in possession of 50.1% of the shares of both companies, according to financial publication Dinero.

Goasan SAS is an agricultural company while G.E. Asociados SAS has various commercial interests.

On March 15 Alqueria opened a factory in Medellin, the home of Colanta, its rival and the largest milk products company in Colombia. The new plant represents an investment of $6.8 million.
