Police in central Colombia say they arrested an alleged serial rapist, suspected of having raped 18 women in the past year.
According to the police commissioner of the Cundinamarca department, the 41-year old suspect traveled the region as a traveling farm worker around the towns of Choconta, Suesca and Sesquile, located some 20 to 30 miles northeast of the capital Bogota.
The police official told Caracol Radio that the suspect already has five convictions for rape and assault.
Following his arrest, the man was brought before a court, that approved the man’s detention while awaiting trial.
