‘Alfonso Cano’ buried in Bogota

Family members bury “Alfonso Cano,” the FARC leader who was killed earlier this month, Tuesday just outside Bogota.

While the rebel group he belonged to for approximately 30 years announced their new leader, the family of Cano, whose real name was Guillermo Leon Saenz, laid the slain rebel leader to rest during a private ceremony.

Cano was buried at the El Paraiso cemetery east of the capital.

The late Cano led Colombia’s largest rebel group from 2008 until an army bullet killed him on November 4.
